About Us
Restoration and Refinishing was taught to her as a young child who followed her Dad around the family Boat Marina Sales & Service business. Emulating her Dad, a Master Craftsman in wood and metals, with marine and furniture restoration and refinishing skills, when not in school, was an everyday role — learning the skills of restoration and refinishing through high school. Her career work in the healthcare field also continued and became a 12-hour workday every 3-day weekend as a long career Registered Nurse in the intense role in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Working in such an intense part of Emergency Trauma Care requires a high level of expertise while working with humans during the resuscitation and critical care required of these professionals. It was challenging, but it was something this career-minded individual loved. Here is what made this life-threatening caregiving career experience tolerable: During the weekdays, in the refinishing and restoration shop, there was a unique balance. Working with wood and the fine details that required patience, accuracy, and a different type of critical thinking skills on a vulnerable antique piece begging for another chance. To ensure stability and longevity – both physically and mentally, this restoration expert found a unique way to stay very well-balanced, from the fast-paced daily life/death issues met every minute at the Trauma Center. She blended her two passions of Trauma Nursing & Restoration Work together so well, her critical-detailed work in both areas became a skill of ‘life-saving’ measures in their own ways, in both fields of work. Since healthcare retirement, the art of furniture and antique refinishing and restoration has become a thriving passion and has been here to stay.
